Key Terms

Value-specific intent task An intent task that users can be fairly compensated with a predetermined value when it fails, and users are willing to accept this compensation when the intent is not fulfilled.

Service Provider A service provider is a role in the dappOS Intent Execution Network. It executes intent tasks for users and collects fees. Becoming a service provider is barrier-free, requiring registration of services and staking a security deposit. Execution Validator An execution validator is a role in the dappOS Intent Execution Network, who stakes $DOS and runs validation software to independently verify the task completions in the network and get voting rights in the slashing of service providers that fail to complete tasks. Users can query arbitrary execution validators to know if the network or a specific service provider is healthy to avoid potential loss. dappOS unified account A fully user-controlled on-chain account that is compatible with the dappOS Intent Execution Network. Similar to accounts of centralized exchanges, assets within it can be utilized in any dApp on any chain integrating our SDK, and fees can be paid using most mainstream tokens.

dappOS intent-centric SDK A frontend SDK for Web/IOS/Android developers to generate solutions for their users’ intents and use the Intent Execution Network to fulfill these intents. On-chain slashing contract A smart contract deployed on Ethereum, containing challenges and slashing of service provider misbehavior, as well as the voting of validators.

On-chain provider manager contract A smart contract deployed on Ethereum, accepting deposits from service providers and providing a method for service nodes to participate in the Intent Execution Network.

Liquidator When a challenge is voted through, the liquidator compensates the user for losses and claims the service provider's collateral. Anyone can become a liquidator to earn the fee.

Super Node A supernode is a role in the Intent Execution Network that receives users' intent requests and dispatches suitable service providers to users.

Free-market governance dappOS provides an open market mechanism that allows service providers to choose which services to opt into and determine their quotes based on their own interests, capability and risk-income balance.

Rating Mechanism A mechanism in dappOS that indexes and evaluates historical data of service providers. It provides an API to query metrics such as completion rate, response time, and adequacy of collateral for providers. Data involved is only from blockchains and IPFS and can be sourced from anyone running an execution validator.
